How To Fill Out Service Logs:
(forms are available to print at the FORMS page)

Please print and write clearly with black or blue pen and record your service activities according to the examples below:

Date            Type of Service                             Time
1/31/13        Cookie baking for troops             45 minutes

2/1/13          decorating placemats for              30 minutes
                    Seasons Hospice

12/18/12      Salvation Army Bell Ringing      30 minutes

There are also shapes on the side of the service log that can be colored in by each AHG child to represent the number of hours completed.

Special Notes When Filling Out Logs:

  • there is a specific service log for each level at AHG.  Please make sure you use the correct service log for the AHG child.  Different levels have different hour requirements in order to earn 1 star.
  • Each sheet only holds a specific number of hours.  Please only include the total number of hours for each sheet.
  • Any extra time need to be placed on a new service log.  No more than 1 service star can be put on one sheet.
  • Please be sure to include good descriptions of what the type of service is that was done.  Initials of a place served or one word type of descriptions will not be accepted.  Write your description as if the person reading it does not know anything about the type of service that you have done.  The only exception to this is Service Night that the troop does together.
Where To Turn In Service Logs:
  • service logs can be turned in to the child's AHG leader at any meeting.
  • service logs will be reviewed by an AHG Board member and finalized by the AHG Service Coordinator.
  • Specific dates will be communicated to the troop on deadlines that are specific to award ceremony participation.
